Dear Sinai Residents, Employees, Families, Friends, and Doctors;

To ensure the safety of our residents and employees we are continuing Covid-19 testing of Residents & Employees weekly due to the high prevalence of Covid in the community. In transparency the facility currently has No residents that have tested positive for Covid-19 and 3 Covid positive residents that were newly admitted to the Covid Recovery unit. There is currently 1 employee that is positive for COVID-19. The facility currently remains in outbreak mode. Unfortunately, we suffered with the total loss of 21 Residents to the Covid-19 virus. We ask that everyone remains vigilant with PPE & mask usage and we continuously encourage safe social distancing.
*** The First COVID-19 VACCINE CLINIC was scheduled Wednesday 12/30/2020. Walgreens was at Sinai Post Acute providing the Pfizer vaccine to all residents and employees that gave consent. There is still an opportunity to request the vaccine for the 1/20/2021 distribution date- please provide consent via the unit manager or nurse before 1/8/2021 if you are interested in the vaccine. The second vaccination dose will be provided on 1/20/2021.
Any family that would like to arrange for a facetime phone call, outdoor visitation, essential caregiver visit, or end of life visit can either contact the social services department or leave a voice mail at 973-483-6800×117. ** Please Note – outdoor visits will be cancelled / rescheduled due to extreme weather conditions such as Rain or Temperatures below 45 degrees**. Please note that the City of Newark is highly discouraging any visits at this time that are not related to end of life.
