May 18 Letter to Family and Friends

5/19/2020

Dear Sinai Residents, Employees, Families, Friends, and Doctors;

I hope this letter finds you Healthy & Safe!

Sinai Post Acute Nursing & Rehab has an entire floor dedicated to a Covid-19 Recovery Unit to best accommodate all residents in the facility that require care during this time.  At this point we are happy to announce that over 95% of our residents have been tested in the facility.  As per the Governors directive the facility will begin testing all staff within the next two weeks, the method to do so is currently in the planning process.  In transparency the facility currently has 17 Residents in the facility that are positive for COVID-19, 30 pending results and unfortunately, we suffered with the loss of 18 Residents to the Covid-19 virus.  We will continue to track these numbers and inform you of the changes as they occur.  Please know that all residents that test positive or are suspected of having the virus are being safely quarantined from all other residents.  Everyone is being vigilant with PPE usage and we continuously encourage safe social distancing.

We are re-enforcing the package drop off times at the facility!  Please note the facility is requesting that only essential items be dropped off.  Sinai will only be accepting drop off items on Mondays & Wednesdays from 8am – 11am.  No open packages will be permitted, and all bags are subject to security search. All other drop offs need to be arranged via the social worker.

We know how hard it is, especially during this pandemic to not be able to visit and see your loved ones. Any family that would like to arrange for a facetime phone call can either contact the social services department of leave a voice mail at 973-483-6800×117.
