06/22/2020 Letter to Family and Friends

Dear Sinai Residents, Employees, Families, Friends, and Doctors;

I hope this letter finds you Healthy & Safe!

Sinai Post Acute Nursing & Rehab has an entire floor dedicated to a Covid-19 Recovery Unit to best accommodate all residents in the facility that require care during this time.  As mandated by the Department of Health the facility has completed baseline testing of all residents and is currently conducting weekly testing.  As per the Governors directive the facility has completed baseline testing for all employees and continues to test employees regularly.   In transparency the facility currently has 14 Residents in the facility that are positive for COVID-19, 53 residents pending results and unfortunately, we suffered with the loss of 20 Residents to the Covid-19 virus.  We are happy to announce that we have had over 85 residents successfully recover from COVID-19. We currently have 2 employees that are out of work due to being COVID positive. We will continue to track these numbers and inform you of the changes as they occur.  We ask that everyone is being vigilant with PPE & mask usage and we continuously encourage safe social distancing.

As per the Executive Order dated June 19, 2020, beginning on June 21, 2020, NJ facilities may allow in-person visitation in a designated outdoor visitation space, provided that the facility implements safety, care, and infection prevention and control measures as advised.  Under the guidance of Newark Department of Health and Community Wellness, Sinai has determined that the facility not begin outside visitation at this time.  This policy will be reviewed weekly to ensure that the facility opens in the safest manner possible.

We know how hard it is, especially during this pandemic to not be able to visit and see your loved ones. Any family that would like to arrange for a facetime phone call can either contact the social services department of leave a voice mail at 973-483-6800×117.

Please remember to check our Website for updates that are posted regularly
