06/08/2020 Letter to Family and Friends

6/08/2020

Dear Sinai Residents, Employees, Families, Friends, and Doctors;

I hope this letter finds you Healthy & Safe!

Sinai Post Acute Nursing & Rehab has an entire floor dedicated to a Covid-19 Recovery Unit to best accommodate all residents in the facility that require care during this time.  The Department of Health has mandated continued testing for all residents that remain negative – at a minimum 2 tests for a baseline within 3-7 days of each other- we have completed the first round of testing and are underway for the 2nd round, we thank our residents for their patience and bravery through this difficult time.  As per the Governors directive the facility began testing all employees – a baseline for employees will be established with employees being tested twice within 3-7 days of each other, the first set of testing has been completed as well as most of the 2nd round.  CDC has recommended weekly testing of all residents & employees that have tested negative and the facility is procuring enough tests so we can remain in compliance.  In transparency the facility currently has 46 Residents in the facility that are positive for COVID-19, 86 residents pending results and unfortunately, we suffered with the loss of 20 Residents to the Covid-19 virus.  We are happy to announce that we have had over 50 residents successfully recover from COVID-19. We will continue to track these numbers and inform you of the changes as they occur.  We ask that everyone is being vigilant with PPE & mask usage and we continuously encourage safe social distancing.

We know how hard it is, especially during this pandemic to not be able to visit and see your loved ones. Any family that would like to arrange for a facetime phone call can either contact the social services department of leave a voice mail at 973-483-6800×117.
