2.23.21 Letter To Families and Friends

Dear Sinai Residents, Employees, Families, Friends, and Doctors;

 

I hope this letter finds you Healthy & Safe!

To ensure the safety of our residents and employees we are continuing Covid-19 testing of Residents weekly & Employees weekly as the facility currently remains in outbreak mode.  In transparency the facility currently has No residents that have tested positive for Covid-19 and 2 Covid positive residents that were newly admitted to the Covid Recovery unit.  There are currently 0 employees that have tested positive for COVID-19.  Unfortunately, we suffered with the total loss of 22 Residents to the Covid-19 virus.  We ask that everyone remains vigilant with PPE & mask usage and we continuously encourage safe social distancing.

 

*** The First COVID-19 VACCINE CLINIC was scheduled on Wednesday 12/30/2020.  Walgreens was at Sinai Post Acute providing the Pfizer vaccine to all residents and employees that gave consent.   The second vaccination clinic date dose was scheduled on 1/20/2021.  Those that received their first dose on 1/20/2021 received their second dose on 2/10/2021.  The facility is in the process of making arrangements with the Local Department of Health for future vaccinations and will be registering residents that have not yet received the vaccine and are interested.

 

Any family that would like to arrange for a facetime phone call, outdoor visitation, essential caregiver visit, or end of life visit can either contact the social services department or leave a voice mail at 973-483-6800×117.   ** Please Note – outdoor visits will be cancelled / rescheduled due to extreme weather conditions such as Rain or Temperatures below 45 degrees**.  Please note that the City of Newark is highly discouraging any visits at this time that are not related to end of life.
